Do You Ever Lack Strength?

By April 29, 2019 March 31st, 2020 No Comments

We all have times when everything seems to be going wrong. Circumstances can look bleak, and our best effort falls short.  We can become overwhelmed.   1 Samuel 30  tells the story of how David handled an overwhelming time.  When David and his men returned to Ziklag, they found it had been burned with fire, their wives and children had been taken captive.  They were all distressed and wept. David’s men were bitter in spirit. They talked of stoning him. David was greatly distressed .but he found strength in the Lord.   Instead of complaining or stewing about the problem, think on the Lord. What has the Lord done for you? Has he ever failed you? Is there anything too hard or impossible for God?   The next step is to declare all that the Lord has done for you. If you don’t know where to start, begin thanking the Lord for your salvation and go from there. Recall the times of blessings, of healing, times when there seemed to be no way and the Lord made a way for you. You don’t back down or relent but press into Him. Don’t quit until you experience God’s strength.   God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.  Psalm 46:1-3The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6
