Do You Struggle To Believe?

There will always be some who chose to reject Christ, but God desires all should come to Him. I have often wondered how the children of Israel could be apart of such a mighty, supernatural deliverance from Egypt and miss out on the promise land?

Scripture says, “…even though they saw my miracles for forty years they still doubted me!”     Hebrews tell us it was because of a hardened heart, an evil, unbelieving heart.  This has always bothered me. If this could happen to them, what’s to stop it from happening to me?

Deuteronomy 1, Moses retells the story.  The Amorites were going to attack the Israelites.  They were afraid. Then I  said to you, “Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes,  and in the wilderness. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” “In spite of this, you did not trust in the LORD your God… ”   The children of Israel had the visible presence of God with them, the cloud by day and the fire by night..  Still they hardened their heart with unbelief.

In the New Testament Paul says, “…in the end days… men will become lovers of their own selves…having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof…”   It may seem like your safe. You know the Lord but look around you. I see people respond to the word of God with  that doesn’t apply to me,” or explain it away with that’s not for today. They dismiss the conviction of the Holy Spirit, denying His power to change, heal or deliver them.   Hebrews 3:7 says “Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts…… ”     It’s a command.  We must act, be bold, chose to take God at His Word and obey.
