A Season of Growth: Trusting God with New Beginnings
By S.W.I.M. Leadership
A fresh year and so many possibilities ahead! The start of a new year stirs up a mix of emotions—hope, excitement, and maybe a little nervousness. Change has a way of doing that to us, doesn’t it?
But here’s the thing: change is often how God works in our lives. He’s not interested in us staying stuck or settling for less. He has plans to grow, shape, and bless us beyond what we can imagine. Let’s look at Isaiah 43:19 for a bit of inspiration:
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
What a promise! God is doing something NEW in your life. Maybe you can feel it already—a nudge in your spirit, a longing for something more, or even a little discomfort where things used to feel easy. That’s God calling you to trust Him in the middle of change.
Change can be hard. It’s scary to step out of our comfort zones or let go of the familiar. But you know what? Staying the same when God calls us to do more is even scarier. When we resist His plans, we miss out on the streams in the wasteland—the refreshment, peace, and blessings He’s prepared for us.
A Little Challenge for the Month
Take some time to reflect on these questions:
What areas of my life is God asking me to trust Him with change?
How can I make space to hear His voice and follow His lead?
Who can I share my journey with so we can encourage each other?
Write down your answers and pray over them. Ask God to reveal the next steps He wants you to take.
Sister, remember this: You don’t have to figure it all out today. Change is a process, and God walks with you every step of the way. Lean on Him, trust His timing, and celebrate even the smallest steps forward.
This new year holds so much potential because we are held by a God who loves us and knows what’s best for us!
Let’s Pray
Lord, thank You for this fresh start and the promise of new beginnings. As we step into this year, help us to embrace the changes You are working in our lives. Give us courage when we feel uncertain and faith when we feel afraid. Open our eyes to the new things You are doing and teach us to trust Your plans, even when they take us out of our comfort zones.
Thank You for Your love, Your guidance, and the blessings You’ve prepared for us.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
