| Have you heard the great and mighty things, or are you like me struggling to hear what the Lord is saying? God is talking all the time. Sometimes we’re just too busy to listen, too afraid of what we might hear or we doubt He’s even speaking to us. He calls us to come nearer, go deeper. We expect Him to speak loudly, proclaiming Thus saith the LORD, and then He whispers in a still small voice. However God speaks, God is clear. His sheep know His voice and another they will not follow. So why do we have trouble hearing the Lord? Really, when was the last time the Lord spoke to you? Sometimes there are so many voices, all clamoring for our attention. We are so busy. There’s our husband, our children, work, ministry, friends, to name a few. The Lord says, ” Be still, and know that I am God…” That’s a big SHHHHHHH. Quiet every thought, let go of every anxious thought, and listen for Him. Find yourself a peaceful spot and sit. Don’t talk, just listen. Meditate, think about the goodness of the Lord. Hearing is the evidence of your relationship with God. Scripture give several examples, Father and child, Shepherd and sheep, and Master and slave. In each example God is making it clear, you belong to Him, you are His, you will hear His voice and not follow another. He wants to talk with you today. He has so much to share with you.
