What Do You Do When You Don’t Like Where the Lord is Leading?

I know this sounds  like rebellion. I don’t mean it like that.  I just think in the process of submitting we become aware that our flesh is ever trying to resurrect itself.  I become acutely aware of the need like Paul to die daily. Sometimes it takes but a moment, and sometimes it’s more of a process.   Years ago, I became pregnant with my youngest son.  He was a surprise. I could be happy with the addition to our family but the thought of being pregnant filled me with dread.  This would be my fifth live birth, all natural. It wasn’t that the previous births were worse or more painful, or even longer than anyone else.  I found in my heart a resistance to the delivery, I just didn’t want to go through labor again.
Praise God, in His design, I had nine months to process and get my heart around delivery.    In spite of my resistance, God was constantly present.

He reminded me, this pregnancy might have caught me by surprise, but this child was not an accident. God had a plan and a purpose for him. Hewas fearfully and wonderfully made. He reminded of His plan for me, and His desire for me.  He spoke to me of the wonder of salvation, of my relationship with Him, of who Christ is in me.

So to get back to the question, “What do you do when you don’t like where the Lord is leading?” Remember you are His. You were bought with a price. He still loves you, and nothing can change that.  Psalms 139:4 says He know our thoughts before we think them. Your resistance doesn’t catch Him off guard. He already knows of your resistance and that is why it comes up. It is your opportunity to surrender.  It is an opportunity for your growth and His glory. Don’t run from Him but run to Him.

Have you or are you experiencing some resistance to the Lord leading?
